Does the Fluxabee hive scale work in winter and below freezing?
Yes - the Fluxabee hive scale is built to operate year-round, including in winter. The sensors keep working at sub-zero temperatures and the integrated solar panel keeps the battery topped up even on overcast days. You receive uninterrupted weight and temperature readings from the hive, which is critical for safe wintering.
How long does the battery last in the hive scale?
The Fluxabee scale uses an integrated solar panel that charges its built-in battery, so you never have to plug it in or swap batteries. Under normal operating conditions the battery keeps the scale active for many weeks even without direct sunlight.
Is the Fluxabee app for beekeepers free?
Yes, the Fluxabee app is free - just download it from the App Store or Google Play and sign in to your apiary. Some advanced features (extra measurement-history packages or the AI assistant) are available through optional subscriptions, but the core hive monitoring works without any paid plan.
How does Fluxabee protect my apiary data?
Data from the scales and the app is encrypted in transit and stored on servers located in the European Union, in line with GDPR. Only signed-in users can access their own apiary, and Fluxabee never shares your data with third parties without your consent.
Does the scale work without WiFi?
Yes. The Fluxabee scale uses the cellular network, so you don't need WiFi at the apiary. That matters because most apiaries sit far from any home router - all the scale needs is mobile coverage.
How many hives can I monitor with one scale?
Each Fluxabee scale monitors a single hive. In the app you can add as many scales as you want and manage them inside one apiary - whether you run 1, 10 or 50 hives.
Is the Fluxabee app available in my language?
Yes - the Fluxabee app is fully translated into English, German, Polish and many other languages. You can switch the interface language at any time in the app settings.
Is the hive scale weatherproof in the rain?
Yes. The Fluxabee scale's enclosure is waterproof and designed to live outdoors year-round. Rain, snow and humidity have no effect on the measurements.
How do I install the scale under the hive?
The scale ships with a mounting guide. You simply place it on a flat surface and put the hive directly on top of the scale plate. The whole setup takes a few minutes and requires no special tools.
What happens if I lose cellular coverage at the apiary?
The scale stores measurements in its internal memory and uploads them as soon as cellular coverage returns. You don't lose any data - even in remote spots with weak signal.
