The briefing depends on the records saved for your hive. The tag does not measure the colony’s condition itself - it recalls what is in your app.

In everyday use
Your first scan, made simple.
Install the Fluxabee app, sign in and select an apiary where you have already added your hive. You need a phone that reads NFC tags and an internet connection. Your tag arrives pre-programmed - just choose which hive it should open in the app.

Hold your phone to the new tag and open the detected link in Fluxabee. On the unassigned tag screen, choose “Assign hive”, then select the right hive in your current apiary.
Stick it within easy reach
Choose a clean, dry spot at the back of the hive, such as the side of the lid. Test the scan there before pressing the sticker down. Leave it easy to reach with your phone while you work.
Next scans: listen and get started
Before an inspection, tap the tag and open the link. The app automatically reads the saved hive status aloud. Replay the briefing or choose “Open hive” to view the hive record and history.

Flux Tag is a thin, weather-resistant PET sticker. Place it where you can comfortably reach it with your phone before each inspection.
Easy to reach from the back
The side of the lid facing your working position is a useful spot. Clean and dry the surface, test the scan, then attach the tag. Choose a place that stays out of the way when removing hive parts.
If you swap lids between hives, remember that the tag moves with the lid. Check or change its assignment in the app.

Let's talkWhich phones work with Flux Tag?
An iOS or Android phone that supports reading NFC tags and the current Fluxabee app. Sign in with an account that has access to the apiary. On Android, check that NFC is enabled. After scanning, open the link or notification if your phone prompts you.
Can someone else see my apiary data?
The tag contains a link, not your notes or colony data. The app checks the signed-in account’s permissions before retrieving hive information. Tapping the tag does not give someone without apiary access permission to read those records.
How many tags do I need?
One tag for each hive you want to label. Start with a few and add more as your apiary grows. The price shown is for one tag; choose your quantity before adding it to the cart.
Do I need to program the tag myself?
No. Flux Tag arrives pre-programmed from the shop. Assign it to a hive in the Fluxabee app on your first scan. You do not need a separate NFC writing app, a dedicated reader or Bluetooth pairing.
Do I need internet access to hear the briefing?
Yes. NFC reads the link from the tag, but your phone needs an internet connection to retrieve hive status and check access. The app reads information saved in Fluxabee, so keep your records up to date after inspections.
Can I assign the tag to a different hive?
Yes, within the same apiary. After scanning, choose “Assign different hive” and select the new hive. The apiary owner or a member with editing permissions can change the assignment. Moving an assigned tag to a different apiary is blocked.
Which language will I hear?
The app uses the language selected in Fluxabee. On the listening screen, you can replay the briefing and open the voice and reading speed settings. Available voices depend on your phone’s operating system and installed voices.
Do I also need a hive scale?
No. Flux Tag uses hive records saved in the app and works without a scale. You need a compatible phone, the Fluxabee app, an account with access to the hive and internet access. A hive scale is a separate, optional device.
